Bethany Hepworth

Ballet

Bethany began dancing as a young child at The Academy of Dance and Related Arts in Coldwater, Michigan.  In her time there, she performed with the Young Michigan Dances company and enjoyed performing in multiple productions of The Nutcracker, and other Ballets including The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Peter and the Wolf, and The Fantastic Toy Shop. She studied under the instruction of her parents who both studied dance at Indiana University and went on to dance professionally and teach at The Washington Ballet. After high school, she attended Central Michigan University, where she performed with the Orchesis dance company.  She graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Health Fitness in Rehabilitative and Preventative Programs and a minor in Nutrition.

She began her teaching career in 2004 at Vision Studio of Performing Arts in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and has continued to teach at various studios and travel Michigan as a guest teacher.  In 2012, Bethany began working with The University Theatre Dance Company at Central Michigan University as a choreographer and then became dance faculty (at CMU) in 2014, where she continues to teach classes and work with the dance company. This will be Bethany’s second season with Dean/Black.
