Rochelle Black began her training at the age of 3 in all forms of dance. Her love for ballet blossomed while attending the National Ballet of Canada. Her professional debut was choreographing for the NBA/WNBA Detroit Pistons and Detroit Shock at the age of 13. Rochelle then found herself on the big screen as a featured dancer in the Disney film Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen. Rochelle moved to Los Angeles where she continued teaching, choreographing and auditioning, she landed a role in the North American tour of the Broadway show Movin’ Out, choreographed by Twyla Tharp. Rochelle traveled the world while performing for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a dancer and aerialist.

Rochelle then pursued a career in film and television and landed a reoccurring role as a principle actor in 4 seasons of the FX series The Strain. She was also in Suicide Squad, Country Crush,11/22/63, Bang Bang Baby, Shadow Hunters, The Best Christmas Party Ever, Marilyn and Life.  

Rochelle’s love for educating and inspiring dancers drives her to continue teaching, choreographing and adjudicating dance competitions, encouraging young dancers around the world. Rochelle is certified through Acrobatic Arts in both module 1 & 2. She is also a certified STOTT Pilates instructor. Rochelle loves spreading the importance of cultivating a strong mind body connection and awareness to aid in injury prevention and recovery.
