Andrea Purrenhage

Ballet

Andrea began her training in classical Vaganova technique at Metropolitan Ballet Center in Mt. Clemens. She has had the opportunity to work with numerous dance summer intensive programs including: Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dayton College and Eglevsky Ballet of NYC.  Purrenhage went on to study English and Dance at Alma College and achieved her degree while dancing with the Alma College Dance Company. During her time with ACDC she enjoyed performing in many different ballets including; Aurora’s Wedding, Grand Tarantella, Le Bayadere, Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Les Sylphides.

Purrenhage currently teaches Ballet as a faculty member in Communication and Dramatic Arts at Central Michigan University.  She also enjoys teaching advanced ballet and pointe at Off Broadway Performing Arts studio in Mt. Pleasant.
